Savannah City Docks, GA – Located 8.6 miles from ICW in the heart of River Street the city offers first come first serve, 300 total feet of modern floating dock. These docks are an excellent access for the popular River Street shops and restaurants. The City of Savannah operates a water ferry system providing free passage across the Savannah River between downtown’s riverwalk and Hutchinson Island, home of the Westin Resort and the Savannah Convention Center.

The official policy is that boats can dock for 3 hours for free. HOWEVER, THE CITY IS OFFERING A SPECIAL PROMOTION IN JULY 2022 OF FREE DOCKING FOR 48 HOURS INCLUDING ELECTRIC AND WATER! This special will probably be discontinued in August, so check ahead to confirm the status. Contact information is listed below.

The recreational dock is first-come, first-served, no reservations accepted. Pleasure boats may dock overnight for a transient fee of $1.50 per foot. Fees are paid at the Parking Services Department located at 100 East Bryan Street. Signage is available at the docks with additional information. See photos linked below for picture of sign.

Plan ahead and add extra fenders as the Savannah River is a busy seaport with large container ship as well as local ferries and riverboat tours. Electric and water are available.
